Protect Kids ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Protect Kids Parent and Protect Kids Kid collect, use, and protect information when you use our applications.
1. About Protect Kids
Protect Kids consists of two companion applications:
Protect Kids Parent – used by parents to configure parental controls and monitor the child's device.
Protect Kids Kid – installed on the child's device to enforce parental controls configured by the parent.
The applications are designed to work together and are intended to be installed and configured by a parent or legal guardian.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how the applications are used, we may collect the following information:
Account Information
Parent name
Child name
Login code used to pair the Parent and Kid applications
Device Information
Installed applications
Application package names
Device protection settings
Android version and basic device information required for app functionality
Usage Information
The Kid application may collect:
Screen time statistics
Application usage duration
Daily usage summaries
Usage timestamps
This information is used solely to provide parental control features.
Location Information
If the parent enables location monitoring, the Kid application may collect the device's current location so it can be viewed from the Parent application.
Location collection can be disabled by the parent at any time.
Subscription Information
The Parent application uses Google Play Billing to manage subscriptions.
We do not receive or store your payment card information.
3. Accessibility Service
Protect Kids Kid uses Android Accessibility Service exclusively to provide parental control functionality.
Accessibility is used only to:
Detect when applications are opened
Enforce blocked applications
Enforce daily usage limits
Maintain real-time protection while the child uses the device
Protect Kids does NOT use Accessibility to:
Read passwords
Read messages
Capture typed text
Collect personal conversations
Read emails
Monitor web content
Accessibility data is used only to provide the parental control features requested by the parent.
4. Usage Access Permission
Protect Kids uses Android Usage Access permission to:
Measure application usage
Calculate daily screen time
Display usage statistics
Enforce configured usage limits
5. Notification Permission
Protect Kids displays an ongoing notification while protection is active.
This notification is required by Android to allow the protection service to continue running reliably in the background.
6. Device Administrator Permission
If enabled by the parent, Device Administrator permission helps prevent unauthorized removal or disabling of Protect Kids from the child's device.
7. Background Protection
Protect Kids may request battery optimization exemptions and Auto Start permissions on supported devices to ensure parental controls continue working reliably after device restarts or while running in the background.
8. How We Use Information
Collected information is used only to:
Synchronize settings between Parent and Kid applications
Display usage reports
Enforce application restrictions
Enforce screen time limits
Display the child's location (if enabled)
Maintain the parental control service
We do not sell personal information.
9. Data Storage
Application data is securely synchronized using Google Firebase services.
Information is stored only for the operation of the parental control service.
10. Authentication
Protect Kids uses Firebase Authentication internally to securely synchronize information between the Parent and Kid applications.
Authentication is used only to provide secure communication between paired devices.
11. Third-Party Services
Protect Kids uses the following Google services:
Firebase Authentication
Firebase Cloud Firestore
Google Play Billing
These services are governed by Google's own Privacy Policy.
12. Children's Privacy
Protect Kids is intended to be installed and configured by parents or legal guardians.
Children cannot independently create or manage parental control settings.
Parents are responsible for configuring and supervising the use of the application.
13. Information We Do NOT Collect
Protect Kids does not collect:
Passwords
Messages
Emails
Contacts
Photos
Videos
Files
Keyboard input
Accessibility text
Browsing content
14. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect stored information, including secure communication with Firebase services over encrypted connections.
While no method of electronic storage is completely secure, we strive to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
15. Data Deletion
Parents may stop using Protect Kids at any time by uninstalling the applications.
Removing the Parent application or deleting the associated configuration will stop synchronization between devices.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
The updated version will always include the latest revision date at the top of this document.
